Phoenix, Arizona - Field report for dates: February 1st thru March 15th, 2003

Debris-locators field report - NASA's investigation of reported debris - Update

NASA field investigators have deemed the cinder fragments (images below) to be NOT from the Shuttle Columbia! But because these same investigators offered, that they may be METEORITIC (as an explanation for why these cinders were found on the grass in various yards in a Phoenix suburb) the property owners had these 3 samples sent to me for identification. My examination confirms that these 3 cinder specimens are NOT meteorites, but most likely are cinders of an as yet unidentified man-made material... This has raised some doubt about the original determination by the NASA field investigators!!?

The above "cinder" specimens were mailed to me by our very own Debris-locator, Bob Holmes, of Glendale Arizona. Thanks, Bob, for giving me the opportunity to examine these puzzling specimens.
