Willcox Playa 007 - this meteorite is now CLASSIFIED: L6, S2, W1 (Fa 24.4+/-0.1%, Fs 20.8%, Wo 1.8%) Posted 2005/March/01 | by Robert Verish The surface of the dry lake at the find locality - | - this is a view from the cab of my truck, and this is how it looked when we first drove up beside the "rock". The "bottom" side - | - The lakebed sediment still clings to the bottom side of this find after it has been turned over. The new "Willcox Playa 007" find - | - The alkaline lakebed sediment still sits at the bottom of the very same pits that it has corroded down into the chondritic groundmass (much like the pits that water corroded down into of the Willamette iron meteorite).
